Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Chompi website at www.chompi.co.uk ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use our Service.

These Terms apply to all visitors, users, pet owners, and sitters who access or use the Service. Chompi is operated by Chompi Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales.

Description of Service

Chompi is a platform that connects pet owners with trusted, verified local pet sitters. Our Service includes:

• Discovery and browsing of pet sitter profiles
• Booking and managing pet care appointments
• GPS-verified check-ins, timestamped photos, and welfare reports
• Reviews, ratings, and community features
• Communication between pet owners and sitters

Chompi acts as an intermediary platform. We do not directly provide pet care services and are not liable for the actions of individual sitters or owners.

Eligibility and Accounts

To use Chompi, you must:

• Be at least 18 years of age
• Provide accurate, complete, and up-to-date information when registering
• Keep your login credentials secure and not share them with others
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we believe are being used fraudulently.

Bookings and Payments

When you make a booking through Chompi:

• You enter into a direct agreement with the sitter for the provision of pet care services
• Chompi facilitates payment processing on behalf of the sitter
• Full payment is required at the time of booking confirmation
• Prices displayed on the platform are inclusive of any applicable service fees

Chompi uses third-party payment processors. By making a payment, you also agree to their terms and conditions.

Cancellations and Refunds

Cancellation by pet owner

• Cancellations made more than 48 hours before a booking start time are eligible for a full refund
• Cancellations made within 48 hours of the booking start time may be subject to a cancellation fee
• No-shows or same-day cancellations are non-refundable

Cancellation by sitter

• If a sitter cancels a confirmed booking, you will receive a full refund
• We will make reasonable efforts to help you find an alternative sitter

Chompi reserves the right to issue refunds at its discretion in exceptional circumstances.

Sitter Obligations

If you register as a sitter on Chompi, you agree to:

• Provide accurate information about your experience, qualifications, and availability
• Complete all background verification steps required by Chompi
• Provide the services as described and agreed at the time of booking
• Comply with all applicable laws regarding animal welfare and data protection
• Submit GPS check-ins, photos, and welfare reports as required by the platform
• Treat all pets in your care with appropriate skill, care, and compassion

Chompi reserves the right to remove any sitter from the platform for violations of these obligations or for conduct that undermines trust and safety.

Pet Owner Obligations

As a pet owner using Chompi, you agree to:

• Provide accurate information about your pet, including health, behaviour, and any special requirements
• Disclose any history of aggression or medical conditions that may affect the sitter or others
• Ensure your pet is up to date with vaccinations where required
• Treat sitters with respect and professionalism
• Arrive and collect your pet at agreed times

You remain responsible for your pet at all times, including any damage, injury, or costs caused by your pet.

Prohibited Conduct

You must not use Chompi to:

• Post false, misleading, or fraudulent information
• Harass, abuse, or threaten other users
• Circumvent the platform by arranging bookings or payments outside of Chompi
• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the platform
• Post or transmit any content that is offensive, defamatory, or in breach of third-party rights

Violation of these rules may result in immediate account suspension and legal action where appropriate.

Liability

Chompi provides a technology platform to connect pet owners and sitters. To the fullest extent permitted by law:

• Chompi is not liable for the actions, omissions, or negligence of any sitter or pet owner
• Chompi does not guarantee the suitability of any sitter for any particular pet or situation
• Chompi is not responsible for any loss, injury, illness, or death of a pet that occurs during a booking
• Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the value of the booking in question

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under English law.

Intellectual Property

All content on the Chompi website, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, icons, and software, is the property of Chompi Ltd and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any content on this website without our prior written consent.

Privacy

Your use of Chompi is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the Service, you consent to the collection and use of your data as described therein.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to our services, legal requirements, or business practices. We will post the updated Terms on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.

Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
